Protect the ocean

Most ocean plastic starts on land: the bottles, bags and synthetic fibers that drain out to sea.

11M

tonnes of plastic flow into the ocean every single year.

The case

Why it matters

Once it reaches the water, plastic doesn’t disappear — it breaks into microplastics that fish eat, that we eat, and that never fully go away. The good news is that most of it is traceable to everyday land-based habits, which means everyday swaps genuinely move the needle. Natural fibers and refillables keep the worst offenders out of the water entirely.

Take action

What you can do

  1. 01

Cut single-use plastic off at the source.

  2. 02

Favor natural fibers over synthetics that shed microplastics in the wash.

  3. 03

Carry a refillable bottle and fold-flat bags.
